“Suddenly, I was more than a middle-aged mom with a Mac. I wasn’t just full of wit. I was a writer. What a novel idea!”
I’m so excited to be included in the latest Chicken Soup for the Soul book, Age is Just a Number!
My story, “Erma and the Bag Lady,” is about an aspiring writer who finally finds her voice after a lifetime of writing for an audience of one, herself. Slowly gaining confidence through the years, she navigates critique groups and conferences, rewrites and rejections, until she is finally rewarded with a writer’s ultimate goal–to see her name in print.
Everyone and their mother, (and in my case, grandmother, too) reads Chicken Soup for the Soul! Having a story featured in this popular and well-loved publication has long been a goal of mine. I’m happy and proud to be able to scratch this achievement off my writer’s bucket list.
Age really is just a number, and it’s never too late to start living.
